The Walls of Constantinople
Walls of Constantinople are considered one of the oldest and largest military fortresses in the globe. It was built to surround and protect the state of Constantinople which is now Istanbul City. The fortress was established by the Roman Emperor Constantine The Great who has been loved and appreciated by his people for his kindness and generosity. The castle is characterized by its high-risen walls to defend the state from any attacks from sea or land. Those walls kept many enemies away such the Arabic conquerors. At the beginning, there were 27 towers scattered throughout, but then they went through several damages and repairs. Most of the fortress parts are still standing till today to be one of the most attractive landmarks in Istanbul City and a witness to history.
